In addition to its unusual name, Ahwatukee was designed with only one way in and out, earning it the nickname “the world’s largest cul de sac” but we Phoenicians just consider that part of its charm. This family-friendly town will be an exciting part of your family vacation. Hiking to the top of South Mountain, enjoying a picnic lunch in the stone structure at Dobbins Lookout on a sunny day in spring, but if you’re not a hiker or a biker, a wide and curvy road takes you straight to the parking area. From up there, the views of the desert and mountains will have you filling up the memory of your camera with pictures, many of which will be worthy of framing and hanging on your walls at home. On the rarest of days when the rain falls in the desert, the youngest travelers will enjoy spending a day at Urban Air Trampoline & Adventure Park, located at 4816 E Ray Road.
