The towns and communities that make up the suburbs of the great city of Phoenix all offer a vibe that is distinctly their own. Scottsdale with its complex blend of sophistication and Western excitement, Chandler with its unique events, including the Ostrich Festival in the spring and the lighting of the tumbleweed Christmas tree in the winter, and Gilbert, what was once a low-key farm community, has evolved into a thriving town, one that families want to live in and travelers can’t wait to explore. Today’s guide to our Paseo Homes Gilbert vacation rentals will give you a glimpse into one of the Valley of the Sun’s most desired communities and a sneak peek into the comforts, style, and luxuries found in the homes we offer there.

A Little About Gilbert
The first thing you may notice when you roll into town is the Gilbert Water Tower, standing over 200 feet tall and lit by neon lights that are constantly changing. Built in 1927 to hold water for drinking and for firefighting purposes, today, it is the focal point of Gilbert’s thriving downtown community, known as the Heritage District. Home to over 30 restaurants, our guests who choose Gilbert for their vacation accommodations location will never have far to go to find a good meal. In the fall months, Gilbert commemorates the first road that went through town with a multiple day celebration known as Gilbert Days, a celebration that includes a parade down Gilbert Road.
More Than Restaurants
Although the main thoroughfare of Gilbert is known for its restaurants, there is more to this town than delicious food. The Hale Center Theater, located at 50 W Page Theater, is a performing arts theater that features family friendly shows, live concerts, and a variety of other special events. If you visit at Christmas and have ever watched ABC’s, “The Great Christmas Light Fight,” you can see the trophy that is given out to the winners with a visit to the home that won in 2015, a home that is the centerpiece of a Christmas display known as Christmas on Comstock. The Gilbert Farmers Market is open on Saturday mornings year-round, and Freestone District Park offers 88 acres of picnic tables, fishing, playgrounds, and even includes a skate park that is popular year-round.
A Taste of Gilbert
We do want to talk about the homes we offer in Gilbert, but first, let’s talk food. You may notice the big Liberty Market sign in downtown Gilbert, and although you will want to stock the pantry in your Paseo Homes rental, you won’t be able to do it there. Liberty Market was once a grocery store, and many of its original accents are still in place, including the sign, but today it is a restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner to hungry guests. Another popular spot that serves food but is also famous for its musical entertainment, is Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row. Serving up live music and cornhole games, its menu features standard pub grub that is loved by all who taste it. And wine lovers will love the small plates served at Postino, but it is the wines they serve that will bring you back time and time again.
These are just a sampling of the restaurants you will find in the Heritage District of Gilbert, and if you are interested in learning more, wide sidewalks and multiple crosswalks make this downtown area very walkable.
Our Stylish and Comfortable Gilbert Vacation Rentals
As travelers ourselves, we have spent far too many nights in vacation rentals that, while stylish and elegant, have not managed to cross the line into comfort and as vacation home property managers, that is an error we work hard to avoid. Step into spaces that are light and bright and feel welcomed and at home as you begin to explore the rooms that you will call your own over the next few days of your stay. The public spaces, the living rooms, dining rooms, and kitchens, are meant to be lived in and enjoyed, with each offering its own particular vibe and style. The comfortable couches in the living rooms, strategically placed to enjoy optimal views of state-of-the-art televisions and the expansive backyards in our Arizona vacation home rentals, may be the site of impromptu naps, cozy conversations, and extended reading sessions that you can’t often manage to enjoy at home.
Entertainment Matters
The town of Gilbert does offer quite a bit in the form of entertainment, but tired travelers won’t always have to leave the comfort of their rental to have a good time. Many of our Gilbert properties provide game rooms, furnished with pool, foosball, or quite possibly, shuffleboard. High-speed internet allows guests to stream their favorite music stations and televisions can be hooked up to game consoles that may have made the trek across the miles. The backyards of our Gilbert escapes, offer even more ways to play, featuring swimming pools, hot tubs, and cornhole games as well. Some pools may provide basketball hoops and umbrellas tucked into the pool decks will offer some protection from the desert sun. Barbecue grills, outdoor televisions, seating areas, dining spots; all combine to create an oasis that your entire family will love.
The Heart of the Home
There are many places to enjoy a good meal in Gilbert and the surrounding towns, but that doesn’t mean you have to ignore our fully equipped kitchens. Offering high-end appliances, custom cabinetry, and in most instances, expansive stone countertops that may encourage you to roll out some cookie dough on a cool winter’s night. And whether the kitchen of your rental is anchored by a breakfast bar or center island, both spots provide a spot for hungry guests to enjoy late night snacks and morning meals.
Family Sits Here
The dining rooms of our Gilbert rentals are often the center of family activities, providing a place to gather together for dinner, to play board games on a lazy Tuesday evening, to sit, sip, and savor morning coffee and the quiet of a home that has not quite awakened for the day that lies ahead. These are the rooms where dad jokes are groaned over, vacation plans are made, and dreams and hopes for the future of children and spouses are often revealed.
The Gilbert Nightlife
Although Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row is destined to offer a fun night out, the nightlife we are talking about right now is what you can expect when you retreat to our peaceful bedrooms every night of your stay. Anchored by premium beds topped with high thread count linens, featuring state-of-the-art televisions, and offering ensuite baths in the primary suites that may provide deep tubs perfect for soaking and relaxing each night, these rooms may be your favorite spaces in your Gilbert vacation rental.
