40 Years of Wild

In 1984, animal lover Mickey Ollson opened the gates of the Wildlife World Zoo for the first time. He was unaware that one day it would be bigger than the world famous Phoenix Zoo! Spread out over 215 acres and providing a home for 3000+ animals, the zoo was the realization of childhood dreams for its owner. Expanding multiple times over the years, today visitors can explore the zoo atop a variety of Rydables, giant stuffed animals with engines and wheels, and enjoy rides that include a roller coaster, African Safari Train, a Log Flume, carousel, and a zip line as well as many other rides in addition to viewing the animals.

Animal Encounters

The animal encounters offered at the Wildlife Zoo include up close and personal meet and greets with sea lions, capybaras, and our personal favorite, sloth encounters that have cemented our love for these cuddly but admittedly lazy creatures. Learn all about the care that we take with these interesting animals, perhaps igniting a passion for a career at the zoo for your tiniest travelers as they pet the capybaras, train the sea lions, and feed sweet Luna the sloth. Also offering a variety of shows that delve deeper into the behind the scenes working of this wonderful sanctuary with the wildlife encounter show that educates visitors about some of the world’s most exotic animals. Although the animal encounters we mentioned at the top of the paragraph cost extra, the shows that include parrot and penguin feedings are free with your price of admission.
